Biography, Career, Achievements of Football Player Steve Heyer
Born in January 16 1984 in Lawrenceville Georgia, Stephon Heyer is an American football player who plays as an offensive tackle for the Oakland Raiders, a team in the National Football League (NFL). In the year 2007, he was signed as an undrafted free agent for the Redskins. During his college years, he played college football for Maryland. His football career began all the way in high school where he was a two year letterman in football for Brookwood High School in the town of Snellville in the state of Georgia. The fledgling Steve Heyer would use this as a springboard to launch his football career.
In 2002, as a freshman, Heyer played in all thirteen games. However, out of all these thirteen games, he started in only one. He was also disappointed in that in the entire season, he had only two penalties to his name. However, this is not very bad progress for a young and budding football player. In the next year, he did one better by starting in not only one but all thirteen games at left tackle. To show his progress in 2003 as compared to 2002, Heyer finished the season as the highest rated lineman in his team. However, when it came to the penalty tally, he did not improve on the two penalties that he had won in the previous year.
While playing football in Maryland, Steve Heyer played a total of fifty games. Out of these games, he started thirty seven of these fifty games as left tackle. Due to his good progress in the game, Heyer had to stop playing college football after he was selected to play in the 2007 Hula Bowl. Prior to this honor, Heyer had received positive reviews and honorable mentions in 2006 as an all ACC lineman.
Stephon Heyer is the son of Mr. Roland Heyer and Mrs. Glenda Heyer. After graduating from high school, many colleges saw Heyer’s potential to become a great footballer. This means that he was recruited by a good number of colleges. These colleges included Georgia, Michigan, Arkansas, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Auburn. Unlike many football players in the NFL, Heyer holds a university degree. In 2006, he graduated from Michigan University with a degree in criminology and criminal justice. At the moment, Heyer plays for Oakland Raiders in the NFL. He wears jersey number 75 for the Raiders.
